ACRE Radios
Hey guys im making a list of the ACRE Radios and there range and what some of the letters stand for also what we use them for
AN/PRC 343 Squad/Fire Team Communication Squad Leads and Fire Team Leaders will always carry one of these plus a AN/PRC 148.343 Range=1-800 meters depends if mountains or buildings are in the way
AN/PRC 148 Squad/Fire Team Leader Command Communication this radio is used for contacting command or communicating with other Squad Leads or Fire Team Leads,Maximum range is 1- 5000 meters once again depends if mountains or buildings are in your way
Also the 2 variants of the 148 are the VHF and UHF,VHF=Very High Frequency,=UHF Ultra High Frequency, pretty simple
AN/PRC 152 Same Purposes as the 148 except this one is Special its a Satellite meaning that its Radio Waves go straight up meaning that its waves can go over mountains and buildings its maximum range is from 1-9000 meters depends on Terrain and Distance
Now onto the man packs
Manpack radios go on your backs like Backpacks and are simple to use
First the AN/PRC 119 a very simple to operate RTO=Radio Telecommunications Operator Radio meant for contacting Command or Squad Leads or calling for CAS,its maximum range is from 1-7000 meters depends on Terrain and Distance
Last is the AN/PRC 117 the most Modern Manpack we have with a range of 20,000 meters and is mostly used the same as the 119,its maximum range is 1-20,000 meters once again depends on distance and terrain
Just wanted to put this up as a reminder to everyone.
